Google Fined $17 Million for Tracking Users

So everybody knew Google was tracking them, at least I think they knew. How would you not know? You think just a coincidence that you just happen to visit Amazon for a pair of headphones and then next thing you know every website that has Google Adsense is showing you those headphones?

A lot of the Google tracking did come to light a couple years ago and Google “saw the error of their ways” and allowed users to opt out of tracking. When a user opts out they no longer receive targeted advertisements at least that is how it’s supposed to work.

Users of the Apple Safari browser were not being told that they were being tracked. Allegedly Google violated protection laws and computer privacy laws because they were not informing their users that they were being tracked to show them targeted advertisements.
